You may have already heard that Pinterest drives more referral traffic than Google+, YouTube, and LinkedIn combined (a stat Modea made sure to include), but what you may not have known is that it’s the kind of traffic advertisers’ dreams are made of. Nearly a third of all Pinterest users have an annual household income of $100,000 or more, almost 70 percent are female and the largest age demographic represented on the site are people between 25 and 34. A recent study from Flurry Analytics found that the EXACT demographic Pinterest is most popular with is also the one that is the most valuable to mobile advertisers — young, upper-middle class and female.

    From RT:

Security company IID (Internet Identity) believes that half of all Fortune 500 companies and more than two dozen major government entities in the US are still currently infected with the worm as of early 2012. Unless they take the proper steps to eradicate the Trojan from their systems, millions of users worldwide will be left hog-tied, helplessly attempting to navigate to nonexistent servers and, in effect, without the Web.

  8. The government’s home minister, Theresa May, according to one account of the meeting, said that the aim was not to “discuss restricting Internet services,” but to instead “crack down on the networks being used for criminal behavior.” A spokeswoman for Ms. May said the government “would not be seeking any additional powers.”

But the discussion, according to those present, was still aimed at reeling in social media and strengthening the hand of law enforcement in gathering information from those networks. In the wake of revolutions that have seen widespread calls for freedom and democracy, free-speech advocates have said, the British government is considering similar policies to those it has criticized in totalitarian and one-party states.

  9. I WISH MY TWITTER FOLLOWERS WERE LIKE MY TUMBLR FOLLOWERS, AND WEREN’T SO FLIGHTY.

Unlike people on Tumblr, it seems I say one thing about something on Twitter and I lose 2 followers. Get with it folks, I make lots of tweets (sometimes mutiple in a row like a sentence) — critiques of stuff like music, pop culture, politics, and society in general. “Oh! How rude! He said something mean about Justin Bieber and Ke$ha! Well.. I’m just going to unfollow him right now! There! Life is happy again.”

If you don’t like hearing opinions about that kinda stuff, just unfollow me right now.

    Get used to it!
